Job summary

Bain & Company is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Coro data platform. You will own end-to-end design, development, and operations of scalable Python-based data systems, partnering with stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals.

As the most senior individual contributor, you will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and lead initiatives across CI/CD, data modeling, and cloud data services to accelerate value delivery.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in senior technical leadership and data engineering.
• Experience designing scalable Python data systems in production.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading multiple products or streams.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to advise on technical options given time and cost constraints.
• Building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines at enterprise scale.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, governance, and privacy practices.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Responsibilities

• Define technical architecture for Coro's data platform ensuring long-term scalability.
• Lead development of the most complex platform components while mentoring teammates.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, release management, and operational reliability.
• Provide third-level technical support and drive post-incident improvements.
• Collaborate with cloud/infrastructure teams to refine tooling and processes.
• Drive improvements in time-to-market, quality, and cost through automation.
