Cribl, the AI-era telemetry platform, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead and shape Cribl's data engineering systems. You will own core data pipelines, Snowflake performance, and cost optimization while guiding a team of engineers across data, analytics, and platform domains.

This role requires hands-on experience with self-hosted orchestration, AWS infrastructure, and IaC tooling. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with stakeholders to enable

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake: modeling, performance tuning, cost management, security/RBAC.
• Experience leading data-engineering teams and setting technical direction.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT and data modeling.
• Hands-on with self-hosted orchestration (Prefect preferred; Airflow/Dagster acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Cribl's Data Engineering team.
• Own architecture and design decisions for core data systems.
• Partner with Data Analysts, SREs, IT, and business teams.
• Own the self-hosted orchestration platform and upgrades.
• Develop and run Prefect deployments and worker pools.
• Own IaC and Terraform-based infrastructure management.
• Mentor and grow junior/mid-level engineers.
• Shape platform roadmap and architectural tradeoffs.
• Support data science and AI initiatives with production pipelines.
• Prepare model-ready datasets and integrate AI/LLM workflows.
