Job summary

Cribl, a data observability software company, seeks a Staff Data Engineer to lead our Data Engineering team. You will set technical direction for analytics, data science, and operational decisions, bridging the modern data stack with platform engineering and AI workflows.

You will mentor engineers and shape the platform architecture to scale responsibly. You will own and optimize data pipelines, the Snowflake environment, and orchestration platforms, while collaborating with stakeholders across

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake data modeling, query performance, and cost management.
• Demonstrated technical leadership as tech lead or staff level engineer.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT patterns and data modeling experience.
• Hands-on AWS and infrastructure-as-code experience: Terraform or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead for Cribl's Data Engineering team and shape architecture.
• Own architecture decisions for core data systems and drive reliable, production-grade outcomes.
• Own and operate self-hosted orchestration platforms (Prefect; on-prem/self-hosted).
• Develop cloud-native services on AWS and IaC patterns for ingestion and APIs.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
