Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to guide its Data Engineering team and set direction for analytics, data science, and operational decision-making across the company. You will operate at the intersection of the modern data stack and AI-driven workflows, leading architecture decisions and ensuring production-grade results.

Responsibilities include owning self-hosted orchestration (Prefect preferred), evolving the Snowflake environment, and mentoring engineers while shaping the platform

Qualifications

• Deep Snowflake expertise including modeling, performance tuning, cost management.
• Proven track record as tech lead or staff-level engineer.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT experience.
• Experience with self-hosted orchestration (Prefect preferred).
• Cloud Infrastructure experience using Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for core data systems to ensure reliable, production-grade outcomes.
• Own self-hosted orchestration platform and manage Prefect deployment and workers.
• Mentor and grow data engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Partner with stakeholders across Data Analysts, SREs, IT and business teams.
