Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to serve as a technical leader on the Data Engineering team. You will set architectural direction for data systems powering analytics, data science, and decision-making across Cribl’s platform, with focus on Snowflake, SQL, dbt, and AWS.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape the platform roadmap, own orchestration and cost optimization, and collaborate across teams to enable AI-driven workflows and secure, scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake: modeling, performance, cost, security/RBAC.
• Experience leading complex data systems and mentoring engineers.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals; ELT and data modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for the Data Engineering team.
• Own architecture and design for core data systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Own self-hosted orchestration and Prefect deployment.
• Manage Cribl's Snowflake environment and RBAC design.
