Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the Data Engineering team and shape the platform powering analytics, data science, and AI-driven workflows. You will own architecture for core data systems, mentor engineers, and drive scalable solutions across Snowflake, dbt, and AWS, balancing performance, cost, and security.

This remote-first role offers broad influence, collaboration across functions, and the opportunity to work on self-hosted orchestration, cost optimization, and governance.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake with advanced modeling and performance tuning.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals for ELT and data modeling.
• Experience leading data-engineering initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for Cribl's Data Engineering team.
• Own architecture and design decisions for core data systems.
• Operate self-hosted orchestration platforms (Prefect preferred; Airflow/Dagster acceptable).
• Maintain data pipelines, ingestion services, and the data warehouse with reliable logging and observability.
• Collaborate with data analysts, SREs, IT, and business teams to align tech with business goals.
