Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead data engineering initiatives on our AI-era telemetry platform. You will direct architecture for core data systems, own Snowflake environments, and mentor engineers while shaping data strategy and delivery.

You’ll work across data, engineering, and business teams to optimize performance, cost, and governance in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake data modeling, performance tuning, cost management, and RBAC design.
• Proven track record as a tech lead or staff-level engineer delivering complex data systems.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead for the Data Engineering team and own architecture.
• Drive reliable, production-grade data pipelines and data systems.
• Own and operate self-hosted orchestration and Prefect deployment.
• Mentor junior engineers and shape the platform roadmap with the manager.
• Advance dbt practice and manage warehouse cost/performance at scale.
• Develop cloud-native services on AWS and manage IaC with Terraform.
• Ensure data accuracy, timeliness, governance, and observability.
