Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced data engineering lead to design and implement enterprise-scale data platforms powering AI capabilities. You will drive AeroMES Acceleration and related Aero Data Analytics initiatives in a secure environment.

Responsibilities include building ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and ensuring data security while collaborating across local, distributed, and cloud technologies. Strong Agile experience is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years supporting AI/ML systems; BI and data warehousing concepts.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data/system architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Python or NiFi or SQL.
• Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Understanding of data security principles, including encryption and access control.
• Familiar with Safe Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and warehouses at scale.
• Apply systems-engineering principles across the data lifecycle: collect, ingest, process, store, persist, access, and deliver data quickly and securely.
• Work with local, distributed, and cloud technologies, implementing data virtualization, smart caching, and robust security/authentication for classified information.
• Develop ETL processes that clean, transform, and aggregate unstructured data into analysis-ready sources.
• Own the end-to-end data solution lifecycle: profile data, create conceptual/logical models, define functional capabilities, security specifications, backup/recovery, and performance optimizations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure timely business support.
