Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Quality & Mission Success (Q&MS) seeks a Senior Staff Data Engineer to architect and implement the Q&MS data system and governance patterns. Lead the reference architecture, common data models, and data products for reporting, decision support, and AI uses across federated organizations.

You will mentor data engineers and modelers, align with the Q&MS Digital Transformation Director, and collaborate with enterprise data office and IT to replace fragmented pipelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with 14+ years in data architecture or enterprise data management.
• Ownership of enterprise data-architecture strategy, reference architectures, and common data models.
• Advanced conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling for cross-organizational domains.
• Authored governance artifacts and architecture artifacts and presented to senior governance bodies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the target-state reference architecture across the data-system lifecycle.
• Author and maintain common and canonical data models for semantic interoperability.
• Own the multi-year data-architecture roadmap aligned to the data portfolio plan.
• Define governance patterns and certification criteria for governed data products, pipelines, and interfaces.
• Translate organizational data-management maturity gaps into architectural investments.
• Advise on governance approach for AI enablement – traceability and lineage.
• Mentor Staff and Senior data engineers, modelers, and technical stewards across participating organizations.
• Deliver full-stack data solutions spanning collect to deliver data at scale and speed.
