Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure across the enterprise. This role collaborates with data scientists, software engineers, and mission teams to ensure high-quality data for analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and critical business operations.

You will mentor junior engineers, optimize data storage and pipelines, and drive improvements in performance, cost, and reliability in cloud and on-prem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, data engineering, information systems, or related STEM field.
• 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders on data requirements.
• Architect and optimize storage: relational DBs, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts.
• Lead efforts to improve pipeline performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in cloud and on-prem environments.
• Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
• Collaborate on integrating new data sources and emerging technologies.
