Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Controls Engineer to join the Automation team at Arsenal-1, Columbus, OH. You will design and upgrade control systems for production equipment, and lead integration with FactoryOS and OT networks.

The role requires 8+ years in controls/automation, Siemens PLC expertise, and strong safety design experience. US citizenship is required by contract. Competitive benefits and equity grants are offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment.
Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text).
Proficient with electrical component selection and wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
Experience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking.
Experience with Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design.
Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices.
U.S. citizenship is required pursuant to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for production equipment.
Architect, write, and debug Siemens PLC code with emphasis on maintainable, reusable code for high-volume manufacturing.
Generate and enforce internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs.
Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability.
Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs.
Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement.
Mentor junior controls engineers and provide technical direction on integrator-delivered work.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production floor interactions.
