Job summary

Skylo Technologies is seeking a Staff Network Reliability Engineer, Cloud Operations, to own the health of Skylo’s hybrid production cloud. You will oversee GKE clusters, on-prem Kubernetes, and the observability stack to ensure reliable performance across the NTN-based service.

You will set SLOs, manage error budgets, and mentor Senior NREs while partnering with Ops Platform Engineering to automate remediation.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining cloud infrastructure health in hybrid production environments.
• Proficiency with GKE, Kubernetes, and on-premise Kubernetes cluster operations.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki).
• Ability to define SLOs and manage runbooks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis operations and failover.

Responsibilities

• Own 24x7 cloud infrastructure health across Skylo’s hybrid production environment (GKE, namespaces, pods, PVCs).
• Maintain on-premise Kubernetes cluster health including storage and CNI networking.
• Monitor alarms using Grafana/VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, Cloud Monitoring, and log correlation.
• Execute runbooks for fault categories (GKE recovery, PVC repair, database failover, drift remediation).
• Own GKE cluster monitoring and post-change runbooks reflecting current topology.
