Job summary

Medidata is seeking a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer to own and operate the multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure. You will design secure, scalable platforms powering our global applications and mentor engineering teams on cloud-native best practices.

The role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD automation, and advanced security governance, with a hybrid work policy and NJ-based location. A strong background in Kubernetes and automation tools is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, SRE, or DevOps, with deep proficiency in AWS and/or GCP.
• Expert-level experience administering Linux and Windows Server.
• Proven track record of running production-grade Kubernetes workloads at scale, including Helm.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for infrastructure automation.
• Solid understanding of VPC/VNet design, peering, and zero-trust security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, multi-account structures and landing zones across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Manage multi-cloud IAM, SSO, and RBAC for least-privilege access.
• Enforce tagging standards, resource hierarchies, and cost-optimization strategies.
• Lead deployment, scaling, and management of Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE, or self-managed).
• Administer Linux and Windows Server environments with hardened configurations and patching.
• Develop and maintain modular templates using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Build deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Flux, or ArgoCD for GitOps workflows.
• Design security controls including encryption, VPC Service Controls, and audit logging to meet SOC2/HIPAA/FedRAMP.
