Helix is seeking Senior/Staff Bioinformatics Engineers for Clinical Applications to bridge genomic variants and clinical insights. You will productionize workflows, automate evidence gathering from ClinVar, gnomAD, and PubMed, and collaborate with scientists and product leaders to scale production systems for patient care.

You will guide AI coding agents, ensuring correctness and security, with Senior roles owning projects end to end and Staff roles shaping architectural direction across the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related field with 7+ years (Senior) or 9+ years (Staff) of software development experience, or Master's/Ph.D. with 3+ years (Senior) or 5+ years (Staff).
• Production-quality Python and cloud platforms (AWS) experience required.
• Experience scaling AI/ML software and bioinformatics tools into production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Productionize curation workflows for variant classification using AI/ML approaches.
• Automate evidence integration from ClinVar, gnomAD, and PubMed.
• Collaborate with scientists, product, and clinical teams to meet requirements.
• Direct AI coding agents to accelerate curation pipelines with secure, scalable design.
• Senior: own projects end to end and make architectural trade-offs.
