Job summary

Affim is building a premier advertising platform and marketplace team focused on search, discovery and monetization. You will set the technical direction for your era, guiding backend systems at scale with Python or Kotlin and distributed technologies.

You will collaborate with product, design and analytics to ensure sustainable technology choices, while owning on-call operations and establishing robust development standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes).
• Experience developing consumer experiences using UI frameworks like React and 2+ years in search or related engines.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk management.
• Advocate for technical solutions and operational processes to improve efficiency.
• Own team operations, monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks and on-call readiness.
• Establish and enforce code review and design standards across teams.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and leading by example.
