Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Payments team within the Platform organization. You will own the multi-year strategy and architecture for the payments platform, ensuring reliability and scalability as Coinbase expands globally.

This is a remote-first role with in-person surges and collaboration across markets. You will partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to translate business needs into robust technical solutions, lead high-severity incident

Formación

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building payment systems or high-volume platforms.
• Experience designing fault-tolerant, distributed systems at scale.
• Own production reliability and incident response.
• Influence technical direction across teams without direct authority.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsabilidades

• Own the multi-year technical strategy and architecture for the Payments platform and roadmap.
• Build and evolve distributed systems to process high-volume payment traffic with observable reliability.
• Establish paved roads, shared frameworks, and coding standards across the Payments team.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead scaling and reliability initiatives and drive postmortems improvements.
• Mentor engineers and provide architectural guidance to accelerate team growth.
