Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Payments platform within the Platform organization.

You will own the multi-year technical strategy, architecture, and roadmaps for scaling integrations, routing, and funds-flow across global markets. You will design fault-tolerant, highly reliable distributed systems processing billions in transaction volume, drive architectural improvements, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience, with payments or high-volume platforms.
Strong architecting of fault-tolerant, scalable distributed systems delivering reliable transaction processing.
Experience leading platform-wide efforts to unify services, APIs, and multi-tenant architectures.

Responsibilities

Own multi-year tech strategy and architecture for Payments platform across global markets.
Build and evolve distributed, high-volume payment systems with clear SLOs.
Lead quality initiatives, paving roads, and coding standards for the Payments team.
Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Mentor engineers through design reviews and architectural guidance.
