CVS Health is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join Health100, a platform unifying health plans, PBMs, pharmacies, providers and employers. The role focuses on building scalable AI-enabled platforms with LLMs and microservices.

You will design end-to-end AI solutions, lead architectural decisions, and collaborate across product and engineering teams while mentoring engineers to drive quality and innovation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering scalable, production-grade applications.
• 5+ years API development with Java, Python, or Node.js; microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, RKE).
• Strong CI/CD, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Frontend frameworks such as Angular or React.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI/GenAI applications using LLMs, RAG, and agentic frameworks.
• Develop and optimize AI prompts, evaluation frameworks, and model pipelines for accuracy and performance.
• Architect and implement end-to-end solutions including frontend (Angular/React) and backend APIs/services.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems using cloud-native and microservices architectures.
• Lead technical design discussions and drive scalable, secure architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams.
