Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a passionate Staff Backend Engineer to join a high‑impact team building next‑generation AI solutions. The role combines technical leadership with hands‑on delivery to create scalable, production‑grade systems.

You will design and deploy AI/GenAI applications using LLMs and RAG architectures, build robust APIs and frontend/backend components, and collaborate with product, business, and engineering to align with strategic goals.

Qualifications

7+ years delivering scalable, production-grade software.
5+ years in backend development with API/microservices.
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Kubernetes).
CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization expertise (Docker/Kubernetes).
Frontend framework experience (Angular/React).
1+ year in Generative AI/LLM-based systems (prompts, RAG, evaluation).

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy scalable AI/GenAI apps with LLMs and RAG.
Develop AI prompts, eval frameworks, and model pipelines.
Architect end-to-end solutions including frontend (Angular/React) and backend APIs.
Integrate AI into enterprise systems using cloud-native microservices.
Lead technical design discussions and ensure secure, high‑performing architecture.
Mentor engineers and stay current with AI/ML trends.
