Job summary

Anthropic is seeking Staff+ engineers with strong backend or infrastructure experience to design, build, and operate internal tooling for the Claude Platform. You will partner with product engineers and own your area’s technical strategy and roadmap, focusing on developer experience and safe, scalable changes.

Candidates should have production experience in Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript, plus expertise in CI/CD and deployment systems.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating backend services or infrastructure in production.
• Strong experience with developer tooling, CI/CD, test infrastructure, or deployment systems.
• Experience leading large technical projects across teams with measurable impact.
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially with internal partner teams.
• Interest in Anthropic's mission of safe, beneficial AI.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate tools that help product teams ship faster.
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for your area, and ensure hard problems are solved.
• Define what it means to trust changes written by Claude and build the tooling that enforces it.
• Build agents that diagnose failures, fix broken tests, and run migrations.
• Embed with partner teams to reduce friction and turn fixes into reusable products.
• Move between building new tools and improving shared systems as priorities shift.
