Job summary

Anthropic is seeking Staff+ engineers to own platform acceleration tooling for Claude API, SDKs, and the Claude Platform. You will lead technical strategy for scalable backend services, with focus on developer experience, reliability, and tooling, collaborating with engineers across teams.

Qualifications

Experience building and operating large-scale backend services or distributed systems in production.
Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript.
Deep experience with developer tooling, CI/CD, test infrastructure, or deployment systems.

Responsibilities

Own the technical strategy and roadmap for your area and ensure hard problems are solved.
Stay hands-on: design, build, and operate the tools that help Platform teams ship code faster.
Define what it takes to trust a change, and build tooling to enforce it before and after merge.
Build agents to automate repetitive engineering work like diagnosing failures and running migrations.
Embed with partner teams to identify friction and turn fixes into reusable products.
Measure developer experience and adoption; use data to decide what to build next.
Move between creating new tools and improving shared systems as priorities shift.
