Job summary

Helm Health Corporation is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join the Claims Engine team in a fully remote capacity. You will own services for 270/271 benefit estimates, claims adjudication integrations, and data pipelines across PostgreSQL, Redis, and BigQuery, collaborating with product and other engineering teams to translate complex healthcare workflows into reliable backend systems.

You should have 4+ years building backend services, 2+ years using Go, strong PostgreSQL skills, and

Qualifications

• 4+ years building backend services
• 2+ years writing Go
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL
• Experience with Redis and BigQuery
• Experience designing RESTful or gRPC APIs
• Experience with thorough testing strategies
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Google Cloud Platform

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain services powering 270/271 benefit estimate requests and responses
• Develop and support performant, large-scale claims adjudication integrations
• Own and improve claims processing pipelines for accuracy and throughput
• Write and maintain documentation for API contracts and data flows
• Write performant queries and manage data across PostgreSQL, Redis, and BigQuery
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to translate healthcare workflows into reliable backend services
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and incident response
