Grafana Labs is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer, Alerting for a remote-first role focused on building scalable alerting systems. You will influence the roadmap, deliver new features, and own critical services from design through operations in a distributed environment.

We value autonomy, strong communication, and experience with distributed systems and at least one programming language (Go preferred; Python/Java/C++/Rust acceptable).

Qualifications

• Proficient in at least one programming language; Go preferred.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities

• Influence roadmap and personal career objectives.
• Deliver new features and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to operational handover to customers.
• Contribute to open-source culture and cross-team projects.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems for reliability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and own the services you run.
• Mentor teammates and engage in design discussions.
