Job summary

Grafana Labs, the company behind the open observability cloud, is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer for the Alerting squad. This remote opportunity welcomes applicants from around the world, with a specific note for Sweden.

You will work on the Grafana Alerting backend, scaling alert ingestion, evaluation, and delivery, built to support on-prem and cloud deployments at scale. You will contribute to distributed systems, improve reliability, and collaborate with Grafana Cloud teams to deliver robust

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language; Go preferred.
• Experience building distributed systems and cloud software.
• Experience with systems engineering and reliability.
• Excellent communication in a fully remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in influencing the roadmap and your career objectives.
• Deliver new features with your team and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to production and operations.
• Contribute to other open-source projects beyond your team’s scope.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems ensuring reliability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and own the services you run.
• Mentor teammates and participate in design discussions.
• Learn the Grafana Cloud product and codebase of a large distributed system.
