Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for Alerting. This remote role welcomes German applicants and operates globally. You’ll shape the alerting backend, scale distributed systems, and contribute to an open-source culture while collaborating across time zones.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience in distributed systems.
• Experience with Go is highly preferred.
• Background in cloud-based alerting/monitoring is a plus.
• Strong remote-work communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Influence roadmap and team objectives.
• Deliver new features and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to production.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives and related projects.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain reliable, scalable services.
• Participate in on-call rotations and share ownership of services.
• Mentor teammates and engage in design discussions.
• Learn Grafana Cloud and understand the codebase of a large distributed system.
