Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Staff Backend Product Engineer for the SlackBot initiative to design, build, and own systems and APIs that power Slackbot’s search, data integrations, and scale to millions of users.

You will partner with Product Managers, Designers, and engineers to ship high-impact features, drive architecture discussions, and mentor teammates, while balancing speed, cost, and reliability in a highly performant backend stack (PHP/Hack, Java, MySQL, Linux).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend web development experience.
• Proficiency in PHP/Hack, Java, MySQL, and Linux is a strong plus.
• Experience building search infrastructures and large-scale APIs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and build features for Slackbot's search and data integrations.
• Own core systems and long-term health of API foundations.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to ship high-impact features.
• Mentor teammates and drive engineering standards across the team.
