Job summary

Redcare Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer, Checkout Platform (m/f/d) to lead the design and construction of a future headless checkout platform. You will own architecture decisions, APIs and domain boundaries in a greenfield environment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will contribute hands-on in production code and mentor others, shaping the platform to support agentic commerce across channels.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building backend services and large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on with production code and architecture ownership.
• Staff/Principal level or equivalent senior technical leadership.
• Experience in greenfield or 0-to-1 environments and shaping APIs and domains.
• Experience with headless checkout, order management, SaaS/platform engineering, ecommerce or marketplaces is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Core Commerce Services platform across checkout capabilities.
• Define APIs, domain boundaries and integration patterns for scalable systems.
• Drive technical alignment across Checkout, Payment and related teams.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing and feedback to raise standards.
• Partner with Product to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
