Job summary

Anthropic Limited is seeking experienced backend engineers to own and scale the Claude API and related platforms. You’ll drive architectural decisions across API serving paths, tools, and enterprise features while collaborating with research and product teams to convert frontier-model improvements into robust, scalable products.

You will lead complex, multi-month initiatives, design scalable systems, and ensure reliability for hundreds of thousands of users and enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or product engineering experience, with a track record of leading complex, multi-month projects or teams as a tech lead or equivalent.
• Experience designing and scaling APIs with a focus on developer experience, consistency, and reliability—API design review processes included.
• Enterprise SaaS platforms, including permissions infrastructure, billing/pricing systems, or compliance frameworks for regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems powering Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude.ai across scalable, reliable architectures.
• Lead technical decisions and align with product, research, and engineering teams to translate frontier model improvements into shipped features.
• Architect and implement systems that support hundreds of thousands of users and enterprise deployments while maintaining high-velocity delivery.
