Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Architect to shape scalable, secure technology solutions aligned with our strategic direction. You will lead across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and governance, mentoring teams and driving architectural standards.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in cloud architectures, security, and regulatory compliance, plus hands-on leadership in a dynamic, credit-union environment. Hybrid work options are available, with in-person collaboration encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years designing and delivering complex technology architectures.
• LEAN/Agile/Scrum certification and implementation experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud-native tech and modern hosting environments (Azure, on-prem, hybrid).
• Strong knowledge of security, risk management, IAM and regulatory practices.
• Experience with integrating supplier technologies into enterprise systems.

• Drive architecture governance, design reviews, and gates.
• Lead cloud and infrastructure architecture with a focus on Azure.
• Develop, review, and challenge architecture designs; mentor teams.

• Apply AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity and outputs.
• Identify long-term business value through industry trends and innovations.
• Evaluate third-party platforms and integration strategies across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with architects, technology leaders, and production support teams.
