Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Architect to shape scalable, secure architectures across cloud, infrastructure, and applications. You will mentor teams, establish architecture standards, and drive governance with a focus on Azure and modern hosting environments.

Your role requires collaboration with technology leaders to deliver complex solutions while embedding security and compliance into every design decision. This position supports remote and in-person work in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically requires 7 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures, including delivery of multiple complex solutions.
• Certification in LEAN, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL preferred with demonstrated implementation success.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud-native technologies and modern hosting environments required.

Responsibilities

• Shape Enterprise Solutions: lead development of comprehensive architectures aligned with objectives, blueprints, and compliance.
• Strengthen Application Portfolio Management: govern and evolve the application portfolio and technology decisions.
• Lead Architecture Governance: participate in reviews, gates, and maintain architecture standards.
• Drive Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture: provide expertise across cloud, infrastructure, networking, and hosting environments.
• Own Complex Architecture Work: manage multiple projects and guide teams through complex technical decisions.
• Embed Security & Compliance: evaluate decisions through security and regulatory lenses.
• Apply Modern AI Tools: use GitHub Copilot and other AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity.
• Identify Long-Term Value: discuss business capabilities and identify innovations with lasting impact.
