Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Architect to shape scalable, secure technology solutions that support our strategic direction. You will lead architecture governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor teams across cloud, infrastructure, and applications.

This role emphasizes modern hosting, AI tooling, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver lasting member value. Residents of approved remote locations are welcome to apply; the position offers remote or onsite engagement and a broad impact

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically requires 7 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures, including experience managing delivery of multiple simultaneous complex technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Shape Enterprise Solutions: lead development of comprehensive architectures aligned with strategic objectives and compliance standards.
• Strengthen Application Portfolio Management: evaluate applications, platforms, and architectural alignment.
• Lead Architecture Governance: participate in governance, design reviews, and design gates.
• Drive Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture: focus on Microsoft Azure and modern hosting environments.
• Own Complex Architecture Work: develop, review, document, and challenge designs; guide teams.
• Embed Security & Compliance: evaluate decisions through security and regulatory lenses.
• Apply Modern AI Tools: use GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity responsibly.
• Identify Long-Term Business Value: discuss business capability landscape and tech trends.
