Job summary

BECU is seeking a Staff Architect to shape scalable, secure technology solutions across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and governance. You will mentor teams, drive architectural standards, and align work with BECU’s strategic direction while supporting member-focused technology initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with technology leaders and business partners to deliver lasting value, while applying modern AI tools and maintaining risk-aware practices in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
• 7 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures.
• Lean/Agile/Scrum knowledge; SAFe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shape Enterprise Solutions: lead development of architectures aligned with objectives, blueprints, and standards.
• Strengthen Application Portfolio Management: govern and evolve applications and technology decisions.
• Lead Architecture Governance: participate in reviews and maintain architecture standards and gates.
• Drive Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture: specialize in Azure and modern hosting environments.
• Own Complex Architecture Work: manage multiple efforts and guide teams through design decisions.
• Embed Security & Compliance: evaluate decisions for security, risk, and regulatory needs.
• Apply Modern AI Tools: use GitHub Copilot to boost productivity responsibly.
• Identify Long‑Term Business Value: evaluate trends to find innovative opportunities.
• Evaluate Technology Partners: review third‑party platforms and integrations.
• Partner Across BECU: collaborate with peers to resolve challenges and reduce debt.
• Develop Architecture Talent: mentor junior architects and strengthen teams.
