Job summary

Upstart’s Investor Analytics team leads the credit and performance story for the HELOC program, building data pipelines and automated monitoring to report with authority to investors and partners. As Staff Analyst, you’ll partner with Capital Markets, Lending Partnerships, ML, Product, and Finance to shape metrics, calibrate models, and forecast outcomes, while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services with credit risk focus.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with portfolio performance analysis.
• Experience building data pipelines and using Databricks/Redshift/DBT.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Capital Markets and Lending Partnerships to showcase credit performance and craft tailored capital solutions.
• Own the credit performance narrative for the HELOC portfolio, explaining arrears, roll rates, vintage loss curves, and model calibration to investors and internal leadership.
• Deliver recurring performance reporting (yield, default, prepayment) to capital partners and internal teams on a reliable cadence.
• Build credit intelligence infrastructure with AI: data pipelines, automated monitoring, and reporting using agentic tools to accelerate insights.
• Collaborate with ML, Product, Engineering, and Finance to shape metrics and develop forecasts for HELOC pricing and strategy.
• Mentor and elevate the analytics team to foster excellence in data, credit, and analytics.
