Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Senior Product Manager for HELOC Decisioning. You’ll own the underwriting and verification strategy, partnering with engineering, risk, ML, and compliance to expand borrower eligibility, automate decisions, and improve conversion while maintaining risk standards.

You will define and evolve backend decisioning logic, balance data utilization with risk, and drive multi-quarter roadmaps with a pragmatic, data-informed approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience on fast-moving, customer-obsessed teams.
• Strong ability to drive business outcomes using metrics and qualitative insight.
• Pragmatic with data, comfortable making decisions with imperfect information.
• Strong roadmapping skills with multi-quarter horizon and ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy and roadmap for decisioning and verification experience to improve borrower eligibility and conversion.
• Collaborate with Capital, Compliance, Risk, and ML to expand underwriting guidelines.
• Define backend logic for underwriting and decisioning balancing accuracy and friction.
• Increase automation and instant approvals using new data sources and ML to speed up processes.
