Self Financial is a high-growth FinTech transforming access to credit and savings. We seek a Staff Analyst to own analytics for the Credit Builder and Credit Card portfolios, partnering across Product, Marketing, and Engineering to drive sustainable growth.

The role focuses on building AI-native analytics, semantic layers, and actionable insights, guiding decisions with data and strong storytelling for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, CS, or related.
• 8+ years in data analytics supporting product teams, fintech or consumer-finance.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and SQL proficiency.
• Experience building dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Experience with analytics engineering ELT tools (dbt, Databricks, Airflow, Git).
• Experience with AI (Claude, Codex) including skills/contexts.
• Strong Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience with A/B testing and causal inference methods.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics projects that identify true drivers of customer and product behavior.
• Contribute to data models in collaboration with Data Eng and Analytics Eng.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to define measurements and goals.
• Build AI workflows and semantic layers to enable fast, trusted decisions.
• Develop BI dashboards and reports for lifecycle KPIs and cohorts.
• Apply advanced analytics to forecast initiative impact.
• Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current on fintech, AI analytics, and BI industry trends.
