Job summary

Block is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Go-to-Market Systems & AI in a remote Bay Area setting. You will own the architecture and direction of our go-to-market tech stack and lead engineers across complex sales problems.

You will design and operate AI agents, workflow orchestration, and integrations with CRM and data services, partnering with Sales, Strategy, Product, and Engineering to boost sales productivity and business impact.

Qualifications

12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with a Master’s, or PhD with 5+ years.
Experience setting technical direction for complex, business-critical systems across multiple teams.
Experience designing, building, and operating production software using large language models and AI agents.
Track record of moving AI capabilities from prototype to production with observability and security.

Responsibilities

Own the technical strategy, architecture, and long-term evolution of the go-to-market tech stack.
Design, build, and operate production-grade AI agents and automated workflows.
Lead technical execution across initiatives, review designs, and help deliver high-quality solutions.
Stay hands-on through prototyping, architecture, testing, deployment, and operations.
Partner with Sales to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
Define success measures and use data to improve accuracy and impact of capabilities.
Build alignment with senior partners and raise engineering standards through reviews.
