Anthropic, a San Francisco–based AI safety company, seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead the GTM AI Engineering team. You will build autonomous agents and eval systems that power inbound, outbound, and pipeline management, with production monitoring and ROI measurement.

You’ll guide tech direction, architecture, and shared platforms used across go-to-market functions. The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration with sellers and RevOps, and shaping best practices in a rapidly

Qualifications

• Solid programming in Python or TypeScript with production apps
• Production experience with LLMs, context engineering and agent development
• Experience using evals and transcript analysis to diagnose issues in LLM systems
• Data fluency including SQL
• Ability to ship without a detailed spec and solve complex problems
• Passion for safe, beneficial AI and user care

Responsibilities

• Build and operate autonomous agents for GTM motions end to end
• Design human oversight with approval gates and escalation paths
• Develop evaluation frameworks for agent behavior in development and production
• Instrument model and tool calls, build observability linking actions to revenue
• Ship MCP servers, agent skills, and web apps connected to CRM and data warehouse
• Set technical direction for building, evaluating, and operating agents across teams
• Architect shared codebases with go-to-market builders and enforce quality standards
• Collaborate with sellers to ground agent designs in real workflows
• Identify patterns and share insights with Product and Engineering teams
• Maintain knowledge of latest LLM developments and evaluation techniques
