Job summary

Scale is seeking a Platform Engineer to redefine how engineers develop, build, test, and deploy software using AI development tools in addition to traditional practices. You will mentor engineers, drive improvements in development processes, and partner with stakeholders to refine requirements while shaping Scale’s approach to AI tooling and cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-time engineering experience, post-graduation, with build/test/CI/CD experience.
• Experience defining and evangelizing best-practices for AI development tools, including security and hosting knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience configuring, testing, and enabling MCP servers, AI agents, and related systems.
• Track record of independent ownership of successful engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Define next-generation AI development tooling and frameworks (Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, MS Copilot).
• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of local development, build, test, CI/CD systems with stakeholders.
• Mentor software engineers across levels, from new grads to senior engineers.
• Identify opportunities and drive improvements to development practices, tools, and languages.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, offering guidance on processes and technologies.
