Job summary

Scale AI in San Francisco is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for AI Developer Tooling to redefine how engineers build, test, and deploy software with AI tooling alongside traditional practices. You’ll mentor engineers, shape tooling like Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and MS Copilot, and own the local development lifecycle from build to deployment, collaborating with stakeholders across Scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-time software engineering experience post-graduation.
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define next-generation AI development tooling and frameworks for internal use and customers.
• Own architecture, design, and implementation of local development, build, test, CI/CD, and CD systems.
• Mentor software engineers across experience levels and drive improvements in development practices.
