Job summary

Scale seeks a Platform Engineer to redefine how engineers build, test, and deploy software using AI development tools, alongside traditional practices. You will influence our CI/CD landscape and drive engineering improvements across teams, collaborating with stakeholders and customers.

The role emphasizes ownership of complex distributed systems, cloud deployments, and modern web frameworks while mentoring engineers and shaping best practices for scalable AI development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-time engineering experience post-graduation.
• Experience defining and evangelizing best-practices for AI development tools and hosting knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Experience with distributed systems and public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience configuring, testing, and enabling MCP servers, AI agents, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Define next-generation AI development tooling and frameworks using products like Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and MS Copilot, plus in-house solutions.
• Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of our local development process, build, test, CI, and CD systems with stakeholders.
• Mentor software engineers from new grads to experienced staff.
• Identify opportunities and drive improvements to software development practices, tools, and languages.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, offering guidance on processes and technologies.
