Job summary

Invoca is seeking a Staff-level engineering leader to shape and scale its shared AI platform. You will drive architectural direction and build reusable AI capabilities that empower product teams to ship AI-powered features quickly and safely.

You will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, data, and leadership, influencing multiple teams and business outcomes. Location is remote-first, with US-based hubs and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Practical experience with modern AI systems, including LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Track record of building platforms or systems widely adopted by teams.
• Strong architectural judgment with a focus on simplicity and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical vision for Invoca’s shared AI platform across all product teams.
• Build reusable AI capabilities (LLM integrations, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks) that accelerate product development.
• Ensure product teams can safely incorporate AI into customer features without deep AI infra expertise.
• Drive platform investments to unlock new product capabilities and reduce duplicated engineering effort.
