Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and support internal platforms with self-service capabilities for development teams. You will lead AI-powered enhancements, integrate GenAI, and streamline workflows across teams to boost platform reliability.

You will collaborate with development, operations, and security to ensure high availability and performance, while using DORA metrics to drive improvements in software delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep) and GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD).
• Familiarity with Crossplane, Pulumi, and AWS Controllers for Kubernetes.
• Experience with internal developer platforms (Backstage, Humanitec, OpsLevel).
• Knowledge of high availability, multi-data center, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Shell, or Python; strong English communication.
• Nice to have familiarity with native AI cloud services (Bedrock/Vertex AI/Azure AI) and AI agents.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or related roles.
• Solid understanding of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Background in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep and GitOps tools like Flux or ArgoCD.
• Familiarity with cloud resource management tools, including Crossplane, Pulumi, and AWS Controllers for Kubernetes.
• Expertise in internal developer platforms such as Backstage, Humanitec, or OpsLevel.
• Knowledge of high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Skills in scripting with Bash, Shell, or Python.
• Capability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
• Proficiency in English communication across speaking, writing, and reading (B2 level or higher).
• Nice to have Familiarity with native AI cloud services: AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure AI.
• Background in designing, building, and operating AI agents and agentic frameworks.
• Flexibility to use coding agents such as Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, Trae, Antigravity.
