Job summary

Docker is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead AI developer tools and a self-service platform. You will drive architecture for AI agents and tooling, design scalable infrastructure, and mentor engineers across teams.

The role blends AI, developer experience, and platform engineering in a fast-moving, remote-first environment. You will shape deployment, security, and cost-aware patterns, align with business goals, and own critical technical decisions while collaborating with senior leaders

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership on production systems.
Hands-on production experience with LLMs, AI agents, or AI tools.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native infra, Kubernetes, GitOps, observability, and CI/CD.
Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Rust with solid fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction and own architecture for AI developer tools and self-service platform.
Turn ambiguous problems into clear requirements, plans, and staged decisions.
Establish patterns and standards for LLM integration and production AI systems.
Shape platform capabilities including deployment, observability, security, and cost management.
Lead cross-team delivery, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call rotations.
