Job summary

Rippling is hiring a Staff Engineer for Rippling AI in San Francisco Bay Area. You will own end-to-end architecture for AI platform initiatives, lead cross-functional pods, and build scalable agent infrastructure that automates high-frequency workflows.

You will drive observable, self-correcting systems and partner with Product to deliver trustworthy, intuitive AI surfaces. This hands-on leadership role requires deep engineering excellence and a proactive, fast-moving mindset.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with leadership responsibility.
• Expertise in platform and distributed systems.
• Hands-on coding and active codebase contribution.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Strong product instincts and collaboration with product teams.
• Clear communication to diverse audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and high velocity.
• Recent hands-on experience building AI agents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture for high-impact AI platform initiatives from design through production.
• Lead a cross-functional pod of engineers across product, infra, and platform orgs.
• Build scalable agent infrastructure that automates repetitive, high-frequency workflows.
• Design systems that are observable, self-correcting, and improve over time with minimal human intervention.
• Develop harness and platform capabilities that encode business logic into automated workflows.
• Partner with Product to ensure AI surfaces are trustworthy and intuitive for users.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for AI platform development.
• Track frontier and translate model advances into architectural decisions.
