Rippling is building an autonomous operating system for work—and Agent Assist is where AI makes support dramatically better. This Staff Software Engineer role leads across AI, product, systems, and operations, shaping strategies, shipping improvements, and mentoring engineers.

You’ll own major technical initiatives, build AI-powered support workflows, and partner with Support, Operations, Product, and Infra to drive high-leverage impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with staff-level leadership.
• Proven ability to influence across teams without direct ownership.
• Strong systems thinking from symptoms to product changes.
• Hands-on with AI/LLM workflows and tooling.
• Excellent product judgment and customer empathy.
• Thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Own major technical initiatives for Agent Assist within Rippling AI, from discovery to rollout.
• Build AI-powered workflows that help support reps answer questions faster and more accurately.
• Partner with Support, Support Ops, Product, AI Infra, and Engineering to identify pain points.
• Create a rapid operating loop: observe, hypothesize, ship, measure, iterate weekly.
• Translate recurring support issues into upstream product and platform fixes.
• Design reliable, observable AI assistance for high-stakes workflows.
• Lead architecture, reviews, and guidance for a small team of engineers.
• Stay hands-on: write production code, debug, and trade off implementation details.
• Mentor senior ICs and improve AI-native product development.
