Job summary

Medallia, based in McLean, Virginia, is seeking a Staff AI/ML Engineer to set the technical direction for our AI Platform. You will define architecture and standards for the next generation of AI products and lead engineers across teams to deliver them.

The role requires 8+ years of software development, deep experience with microservices, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and data pipelines. You will mentor senior engineers, shape platform strategy with product and infrastructure leaders, and

Qualifications

BA/BS in Computer Science or related field is required or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of software development in production environments.
Experience leading technical design across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for the AI/ML platform and lead its evolution, including security and performance standards.
Define monitoring and maintenance for models and ML pipelines in production.
Design secure data pipelines crossing national boundaries and set team standards.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape AI features for Customer Experience.
Architect scalable data processing solutions for high performance client platforms.
Define API strategy and interfaces powering front-end apps.
Drive process improvements, automate manual tasks, and improve data delivery.
Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and raise engineering quality.
Participate in on-call rotations and handle high-severity incidents.
