Medallia in McLean, VA is seeking a Staff AI/ML Engineer to define the architecture and technical direction for our AI Platform, leading engineers to deliver scalable, secure, enterprise-grade AI products.

You will own the platform strategy, mentor senior engineers, and drive standards across product, platform, and infra teams, shaping data pipelines, APIs, and high-performance ML systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development in production environments using Python, Java, or Scala.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the AI/ML platform and lead its evolution, including compliance, security, and performance standards.
• Architect in-house and cloud-native ML infrastructure.
• Define how models and ML pipelines are monitored, maintained, and optimized in production.
• Design secure data pipelines that operate across national boundaries and set standards for teams.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape innovative features for the Customer Experience space.
• Architect scalable solutions for large-scale data processing made available to clients with high performance.
• Define API strategy and design interfaces that power front-end applications.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, and raise engineering quality across the AI Platform organization.
• Participate in on-call rotation and own response for high-severity issues affecting internal platforms and customer-facing systems.
