Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to help build responsible AI systems that enhance banking experiences. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products and drive scalable, auditable AI platforms across the company.

You will design and deploy AI software components, experiment with model training, inference, and guardrails, and push state-of-the-art optimization techniques to reduce latency and costs while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
• At least 8 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and inference
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch
• Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, latency, throughput
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One
