Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to help build responsible and scalable AI systems for banking. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deploy AI-powered products and advance enterprise AI architecture.

You will work with a broad stack (AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, VectorDBs) and drive model optimization, governance, and observability for high leverage impact across the platform. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master in CS/AI/EE with 6–8+ years of AI/ML experience.
• 8+ years of Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java programming.
• Experience with AI systems and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage OSS and SaaS AI tech like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and PyTorch.
• Invent foundation model optimization techniques for large-scale AI systems.
• Contribute to technical vision and long-term roadmaps for AI systems.
• Set enterprise-wide AI architecture direction and deployment standards.
• Own design/integration of model routing, caching, and orchestration for hybrid/multi-model workloads.
• Champion responsible AI principles across system design and governance.
