Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to help build responsible and scalable AI systems. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered banking experiences and drive enterprise AI architecture.

You will design, train, and deploy foundation models, conduct inference, and optimize performance across cloud platforms, while mentoring teams and helping set long-term AI strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a related field with extensive AI/ML experience.
• Strong experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• Proficiency with Python or similar languages and modern ML tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation models and inference.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, PyTorch).
• Advance foundation model optimization for scale, latency, and cost.
• Contribute to the technical vision and enterprise AI standards.
